API Reference

The Purchase Request API provides a way to send a purchase request to a merchant's SumUp POS. The merchant will receive a request they can accept or deny. If accepted, the purchase request will be transformed into an order in the SumUp POS system.

Business Use Cases

Create a Purchase Request

The primary use case is creating a delivery or click and collect purchase request. In both cases you have the ability to send the purchase request directly to the merchant's POS system, while specifying order information such as date and time, along with the products, packages, and options being requested. Once accepted by the merchant, they can interact with the order and process it directly on the POS system interface.

Planned Use Cases

Since a purchase request is defined broadly as anything that can be requested from a merchant, we plan to support the business case of booking requests. The request would include such information as location, date, time, and consumer details.
